Biography

Jon, a native of rural Iowa, attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before returning back to his midwest roots to go to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine for medical school. During his time in graduate school, Jon came to understand the problems plaguing the US healthcare system, particularly the physician shortage that is more heavily impacting rural, community-based hospitals. He wanted to mitigate these burdens and help the small, midwest communities that helped raise him.
